Recognizing and diagnosing narcolepsy can be difficult.1 With the Narcolepsy Screener App, you now have two validated screening tools at your fingertips.

Screen your patients at point of care with this easy-to-use app and get results in real time.

App Screens
  1. Choose the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) and the Swiss Narcolepsy Scale (SNS), or use either scale independently.
  2. Use the on-screen guide to ask your patients a series of simple questions.
  3. Watch as the scale calculates the score and provides interpretations and recommended next steps.
  4. As a reminder, the ESS and SNS are not diagnostic tools.

A narcolepsy diagnosis should be established by a sleep specialist with a clinical interview and a nighttime polysomnogram (PSG) followed by a multiple sleep latency test (MSLT). A consistent sleep-wake schedule, including a minimum of 7 hours in bed, should be established for at least 1 week prior to MSLT and PSG, and preferably documented by sleep log and, whenever possible, actigraphy.2
